宮永甲太郎 Kotaro MIYANAGA
陶芸
1969年京都の窯元の家に生まれる。
西洋美術にあこがれ金沢美術工芸大学 美術工芸学部 美術科 彫刻専攻に進学。
1991年に無事、4年間で卒業する。
陶芸と彫刻を知った事により、工芸や美術に関して考えるようになるが、その答えのなさに迷子になる。
迷子になった結果、自身のルーツを解きほぐし作品を作る事を目指す。
いま私は、いろいろなものが混じり合い、できあがっている社会において、ひとつの答えよりも、複数の答えを習合した結果を持つことを覚えました。
それが、古来の暮らしに基づいた私たちの方法論だからです。
その方法論の視覚可のために、いま私はシルエットという平面がロクロという回転で立体になるという、平面と立体の要素を併せ持つ作品を作っている。
工芸と美術が習合した作品となる為に。
Born in 1969 in a potter in Kyoto.
Studied at Kanazawa College of Art, Majoring in Sculpture.
The study gave me knowledge of sculpture and crafts.
But that knowledge left me confused.
To solve this confusion, I decided to create a piece that reflected my roots.
As a result, I discovered a methodology based on an ancient way of life.
I found that the result does not have to be a perfect answer, but rather a combination of multiple answers.
I am working to visualize this methodology.
I create works in which a flat silhouette becomes three-dimensional when rotated on a potter's wheel.
This work combines two-dimensional and three-dimensional elements.
To create a work that is a fusion of craft and fine art.
